Sometimes composition is a long and arduous process, other times a song arrives fully formed. The latter was the case for Greg Wilson when he imagined ‘Summer Came My Way’ as a vehicle for hitherto unknown vocal forces of nature, The Reynolds - Katherine and the song’s lead singer Carmel.
About to mark the 40th anniversary of his first club appearance (Chelsea Reach, New Brighton, December 1975), Greg refuses to relent, embracing the new challenge of running a label at a time when he finds himself surrounded by the right-minded musicians to make concepts realities.
With a version issued in 2014 on 'Schooled In The Classics’, Luxxury’s blissed-out slo-mo slice of sunshine was held back until summer 2015 as the label’s inaugural release, and has subsequently become a festival favourite for Greg, as well as an anthem for DJ’s in the know worldwide. The glowing response to the mix has helped further the LA-based producer’s reach in Europe and beyond.
